The story of David Lee Edwards depicts that good things can happen to bad people, but bad things can happen to them too. After winning an astonishing $27 million (it would have been $280 million if there weren’t other winners) in the United States Powerball, David was given the opportunity to start life anew. This was important because he had spent many years in prison due to an armed robbery.
David had a bad drug habit, and a bad spending habit to go along with it. After David sold all of the material items he had purchased for more drugs, he went flat broke by 2006. Shortly after that, David passed away with no family or friends in sight. The saddest part? The fact that he had to be cremated against his wishes because no one around him would pay for his burial.
