It’s a baby girl for Rani Mukherji and Aditya Chopra

Rani and Aditya got married in April 2014 in Italy.

Actress Rani Mukerji and filmmaker husband Aditya Chopra today welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Aditya’s younger brother Uday Chopra and friend Karan Johar shared the news on Twitter.

“I would like to thank all my well wishers and fans,” Rani said in a statement issued by Aditya’s production banner Yash Raj Films.

“Today life has given us god’s greatest gift with Adira. We thank fans our friends and well-wishers for their unconditional support and blessings. With joy we begin this new chapter in our lives,” she added.

Rani and Aditya, who had for long been in a relationship, got married in April 2014 in Italy.

“IT’S A GIRL!!!” tweeted Uday.

“Am an uncle to a beautiful baby girl today!!! @udaychopra!! Rani and Adi had a baby girl!” wrote Karan.

Rani (36) and Aditya (42) secretly tied the knot in April last year in Italy. It is the first marriage for Rani while Aditya, who is known to be a very private person, was previously married to Payal Khanna but they got divorced in 2009.

I have made these Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies at least 20 times now. Not exaggerating. I first made these when we were in the Philippines, when it was a struggle to just keep butter solid for 2 seconds on the counter, and they were absolutely incredible.
